North Jakarta Requires 100 Additional Dump Trucks

North Jakarta Administration continues to clean up the area from trash, but, the trash still not transported maximally due to lack of dump truck number in the area. Currently, the City Administration only has 187 trucks to transport 1,340 ton of trash every day.

"We need 100 additional dump trucks to transport 1,340 ton of trash optimally," told Bondah Diah Ekowati, North Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department Head, Sunday (3/22).

Ekowati uttered, due to lack of the dump truck, trash piles often occur in multiple locations. As example in Rawa Badak disposal site (LPS) which becomes the center of disposal from three locations as Rawa Badak Utara Urban Village, Rawa Badak Selatan Urban Village, and Lagoa Urban Village.

"But, there are only 10 trucks at Rawa Badak disposal site. The amount is not ideal, moreover, Koja Urban Village often sends their waste to the same location," she explained.

Previously, Jakarta Cleanliness Department Head, Saptastri Ediningtyas revealed, her side had proposed budget to add dump truck for five municipalities in capital.

"We had proposed budget for dump truck procurement, but, I do not know the number," said Tyas.
